Cat Lynch Capowski
Retreat LeaderCat Lynch Capowski has been practicing yoga for more than 20 years and is committed to cultivating an
open heart and a beginner’s mind in her approach to yoga and meditation practice and teaching. She
encourages non-judgmental awareness and compassion as students experience the mind-breath-body
connection in her classes.
Cat completed her 200 hr. YTT in 2008 in Elemental Yoga with Bo Forbes, PhD, RYT 500hr which
incorporates therapeutic vinyasa and restorative yoga with a trauma informed approach to yoga and
meditation practice. Cat is also a clinical social worker and has been integrating therapeutic yoga
techniques into her work with a wide range of clients dealing with mental health struggles as well as
chronic pain and other physical issues. She currently specializing in working with veterans as well as
people in recovery from addiction and teaches Yin yoga, slow flow vinyasa as well as Y12SR, a
combination of yoga and 12 step meetings that combines the wisdom of yoga with the practical tools of
12 step programs. Yoga and meditation has played an integral role in Cat’s own recovery from addiction.
Cat is currently working on completing her Ayurveda Yoga Specialist training at the Himalayan Institute
and is a student of Tias Little of Prajna Yoga and is near completion of her 300 hour YTT with the Prajna
Yoga School. She also uses her training and practice in iRest Yoga Nidra, Warriors At Ease, and Trauma
Informed Yoga to support the healing journey of her students.
