Retreat

Never Stop Adventuring… is the mantra I try to live my life by. That, and go with your gut… trust that you’re on your path. We’ve now been in the Azores, Portugal for a month, and I’m just starting to adjust to the work / life balance of living here.

October went by in a whirlwind! I co-lead two incredible retreats with Antonio, and Ian and I facilitated two others, which I have to say went very well. It was our first time in this new role of retreat coordinators, and we are learning and growing every day. We feel blessed to have had some truly amazing experiences connecting with over 50 new and old friends here. I have to say, no matter how tired I am some of these days, I’m never upset about the way I’ve spent them. Exploring new places on this gorgeous island and having meaningful conversations with people you love…that’s what this life is all about. We’re changing lives every day and it just feels right.

Of course, there are days where I really start to miss home. My family. My friends. My SBY yoga community. My students. My SolSeekers Tribe. I miss all of you guys like crazy! I also really miss Fall foliage, lazy weekends in Vermont, pumpkin spiced beers and “picking and squishing” apples.

However, as much as I miss the comforts and constants of home, I love the excitement and unpredictability that is travel. It literally forces me to go with the flow, to be okay with the uncomfortable and the unknown, and to slow down and enjoy being present in every moment of every day. When you travel, your days are full of new discoveries, new foods, new friends… and less of the day-to-day monotonous BS of life that we get so caught up in. We are able to let go and be present in a way that we simply aren’t able to at home. And that my friends, is why travel is magic.
